He brought a new style of pop rock music to the Burmese music scene in mid-1980s,[1] and was popular till his death in 2004. <td>Lay Phyu was born in May 19, 1965 in Inlay Lake, Shan State, Myanmar, according the source. He graduated from Mandalay University with an English Major where he met Y Wine, one of the famous singers from Iron Cross Music band (a renowned music band in Myanmar). Starting from his first music album, he joined the &#8220;Iron Cross&#8221; band, which is originally founded by Saw Byot Muu, a famous Karen guitarist in the history of Myanmar (Burma). Later, Chit San Maung became the lead guitarist after Saw Byot Muu died.</p>
<p>Since the beginning, Lay Phyu was quite successful in his first album and got the most fans in the world of Myanmar rock music. Today, Lay Phyu still enjoys composing music with Iron Cross Music Band for more than 15 years. Other band members include Ah Nge (Lay Phyu&#8217;s younger brother), Myo Gyi, Zaw Paing, Y Wine and R Zarni.</p>
<p>In 2007, when Cyclone Nargis struck the South Western regions of Myanmar, Iron Cross as well as many other famous artists formed a collaboration of songs as to raise funds to help the victims.</p>
